Each statement is accompanied by a pair of graphics representing strong and weak. Players will read each statement, and then click the appropriate graphic on the same line. If correct, that statement will disappear and the next one will move up. Players cannot skip ahead; only the top statement is in play.
This is by far the most subjective of the exercises, and it is likely that you and your students will disagree with the assessments of the authors. Feel free to use this as a discussion starter later! Some things to note:
Anyone representing a university is considered strong authority. Students cannot be expected to know if a specific university is well-regarded or not. Of course, this is a good topic for discussion.
Small sample size is probably an indicator of weak logic (generalization).
Scientific theory is generally considered strong support, as long as the theory is relevant to the claim.
